Okay so maybe I am an alarmist, or extremist, or any other ist that warns about the end of the world, but I can’t help but think about it when I read articles like these on a daily basis:
An article about Global Warming and the many un-natural disasters our world is going through http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1839281,00.html
An article showing how close the Presidential race really is. OMG if McCain becomes the next President we’re all surely going to die http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/09/presidential.polls/index.html And here’s another about how Obama could lose votes http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080910/pl_politico/13317
Hadron Collider…enough said http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080910/ap_on_sc/big_bang
Geez. what’s going to end the world first: Global Warming, McCain, or the second Big Bang? Perhaps I’m giving too much into media. After all, media tends to follow the line ”if it bleeds, it leads.” But still, what do you make of all of this?
Take some time every day and do nothing – no computer, no TV, just “be” with your baby. let the little one know everything is OK and you will take care of her/him. Two minutes will go far.
Think of your blessings: We are blessed to have a good family (well, mostly good.), to be born into a country that has freedom and opportunities and we’ve benefitted from both.

Well, today at work, I pointed out there were houses collapsing in VA, an earthquake in Chile and Iran, and is it a coincidence that it happened after the collider? It felt good to know I wasn’t the only one connecting the dots (and chuckling). I guess we’re still alive and well, and if Armageddon happens, the up side is we’ll be spending eternity together and not just waiting for holidays.
Happy Anniversary, by the way.
First off, they haven’t actually recreated the the Big Bang yet. They have only sort of fired up the machine. They shot some particles around, tested it a bit. I’m a bit attached to the LHC… may defend it’s purpose.
Otherwise, yes, I’m a doomer as well. I am quickly becoming nervous about this election. What is wrong with us?? When will we be duped enough???
I am seriously considering a move if McCain is elected. I won’t be a part of a nation that is so corrupt and misleading. We have a near dictatorship, only the dictator changes every 4-8 years.
It’s all doom and gloom with the earth too. I don’t see people voting for mandation, they don’t want the govn’t medeling with their over consumption..Trash, waste, want, want, want.
Oh boy and the economy. Fannie and Frankie and the $5trillion they think they can collect..from who??? I read a chinese economy blog the other day (In english beleive it or not) instructing thier people not to become to egotistical about thier economic system like we did. Funny, eh? We may just need friends…
Well, the end of the world is out of my control. But I have been given many experiences and priviledges that a lot of the world dreams of having. So to quote my favorite book:
“When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it’s not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.” Bella, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Chaos, utter Chaos! I was just having this conversation with someone the other day and we decided that if McCain/Palin are elected I’m probably first going to cry, and then go get drunk.
I almost think I’d rather face a natural disaster. Btw have you read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown? You might want to read it, theres a lot of great information on Anti-matter and particle smashing, etc. As a matter of fact the whole book is based on a tiny drop of this stuff (that CERN created) hidden in a special canister deep inside Vatican City. Its a long read, but its a great one!
I did read that book and I thought it was very interesting! It made me think for a long time about what would happen if anti matter was ever exposed to the wrong people. Plus it was fun learning about the secret rooms in the Vatican and all that stuff. They are a bunch of Holy Crooks in my mind
But that doesn’t change how I feel about God.
